Matthew Jeanes to B1 Prayer Meeting, 16/09/07
Only the Joshua generation can enter the Promised Land. The rebellious Kadesh generation cannot enter.
The rebellious generation can only wander; sometimes coming close, but never entering in. The rebellious generation go through ups and downs, see miracles and encounter God but cannot enter the Promised Land because of their rebellious spirit.
Not until the rebellious generation are dead can the nation enter their inheritance. Rebellion cannot be covered over: it must die as a generation had to die in the wilderness.
We have a choice in Taunton, a choice to become a Joshua generation; a generation that takes territory rather than just wandering. We can be a Joshua generation – it is the right time – but rebellion must be put to death.
We must kneel before the Lord and submit to him in a way that we have not yet done as a church in this town. It is no longer enough to buy into unity. We must die into unity.
Leaders, churches, will you kneel before the King of kings?
