My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their
message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.
May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one:
I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that
you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
John 17:20-23

About B1

For a long time B1 defied all attempts to define or explain it. The reason for this is that it was neither planned nor instigated by man. (If you would like to know more about how B1 came into being then please visit the prophecy page.)

At its heart is a group of born-again, Spirit-filled leaders who have been joined together by God in a revelation of unity in the church, and who are committed to the transformation of communities for the glory of God. As these leaders have met and prayed together they have come to realise that their involvement in B1 is not a matter of choice, but rather something that God has ordained for them.

B1 is essentially about leaders and congregations responding to the heart of Jesus as expressed in John 17 when he prayed that all believers may be one as he and the Father are one.

My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. (John 17:20-23

Ephesians chapter 4 has also featured often in our times of prayer and discussion, and in it we can find some of the things that have become essential to us:

Commitment to relationship
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. (Eph. 4:2)

Recognising that unity is essential not optional
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit – just as you were called to one hope when you were called – one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. (Eph. 4:3-5)

Belief that the ascension gifts of Christ are for today’s church and need to be recognised and released in order for the church to be effective
It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Eph. 4:11-13)

The members of B1 have never had the desire to form a new organisation so much as to submit to that which God intends for us. As such we do not see ourselves as being in competition with any other group that seeks to unite Christians, and many of the B1 churches are also involved in TCT.
